After years of feeling lost, of drowning in my addiction, of losing very nearly all hope that I could ever have a good life, Stout Street showed me how to be strong and earn that better life for myself. Today I love my life, I respect myself, and I get to end every day feeling good about what I'm doing, all things I had never felt before. Stout Street is the hardest thing I have ever done, and I wouldn't trade a second of that experience for anything in the world. I owe my life to this place, but more importantly I owe Stout Street the person I am proud to be today.

This facility saved my life and nothing less. I had been in numerous 12 step based treatments, jails, detoxes, sober houses, and religious programs, none of which came close to addressing the true reasons behind my self destructive, suicidal substance abuse. I nearly died numerous times during my 15 years of heroin and meth addiction. Stout Street, over time, retaught me how to regulate my own mind and emotions without drugs, starting from scratch all over again as if I was a child. It is not an easy program, but easy programs never helped me. It is not the nicest facility to live in, but the nicest facilities money can buy never helped me; in hindsight they worsened me if anything. Do not interpret this to mean the living conditions are bad; they're neither bad nor great, and if that's a primary concern of yours, this likely isn't the place for you. If knowing you're going to kill yourself with drugs, one way or another, IS your primary concern, and more traditional treatments have not given you the skills to stay sober, then this might be the place for you-especially to those that have abandoned all hope of achieving permanent sobriety due to the loads of "proof" to the contrary that comes with each of a bazillion relapses. My time at Stout is the most meaningful experience of my life. Stout Street gets to the true root of the psychological problems that drive your addiction, whatever they may be, IF you're willing to let them. Today I am happily sober without being reliant on meetings or God for my sobriety. I simply use the behavioral training, pro-social habits, discipline, and apply the psychology that I learned at Stout Street to my life, and lasting sobriety and self love has been the outcome. I have never been so grateful to anyone or anything in my life. I have now been free from the slavery of addiction for nearly three years. Thank you, Stout Street staff, and everyone involved !!!!!

I know many success stories who have been graduates of Stout Street Foundation! I also know several treatment leaders in the Denver area who are graduates and are now helping others on their journey to recovery. I would not hesitate to refer to this program!

The best decision I ever made was to ask to go to Stout Street Foundation. I was a lost soul who was dying emotionally faster than I was killing myself physically. Stout Street taught me how to deal with both appropriately. My journey is not done and I will always be growing and learning but I owe all my years of sobriety and everything I am and have today to this program. Thank you Stout Street!
